Directions:
The park is located about a mile north of the Air Force base on A1A and about 3 miles north of the Pineda Causeway. If traveling from Cocoa Beach, the park is about 6 miles south of State Road 520 and the Ron Jons Store. It is about one mile south of the point where the separated northbound and southbound lanes of A1A merge. Although there is no identification, the park is known as Picnic Tables by most surfers and does have a large picnic pavilion just to the north of the parking area.
The location is identified on the East Central Florida Windsurfer's Google map of launch locations which is available here. Once you select "PAB Picnic Tables", you can request directions to that location.
Directions:
The park is located about a mile south of Port Canaveral. Beginning from the point where the Beachline (SR528) becomes A1A, drive south approximately 1/2 mile to Central Boulevard. Take Central Boulevard to the left (east, towards the beach). The road ends at Ridgewood Ave. in less than one mile. Turn right (south) and Cherie Down Beach Park will be on the left (east) within 1/4 mile.
Directions:
The park is located adjacent to the Canaveral inlet. Head east on the Beachline (528) past the Banana River and then exit onto George J. King Boulevard just before the road leads over a bridge into the Port Canaveral community. George J. King goes east into Jetty Park after about 2/3 miles. There is a $5 charge to enter the park. Once in the park, the first parking area on the right is the most convenient since we will be south of the designated swimming area.
